Officers from the Vail Police Department are inviting community members to join them for a bike and e-bike registration and safety event between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, June 26, at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village.

Registering your bike/e-bike with the Vail Police Department can aid in its recovery if it is stolen. Officers will record your serial number and identifying characteristics then store the information in our record keeping system, so you don’t have to remember them if an incident occurs.

The Vail Police Department is partnering with The Cycle Effect for this event. The Cycle Effect, located in Eagle, is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering young women through mountain biking to create brighter futures and build stronger communities.

This event will focus on the bike/e-bike registration program but will also serve as an opportunity for officers to encourage bike/e-bike safety and secure storage. The Vail Police Department has seen a rise in bike thefts over the past few years and can offer tips and advice to help safeguard your bike.
