Special Events and the Economic Development Department 

The Economic Development Department oversees special events in the Town of Vail.  Special event permit applications are processed by the department with the support of other town departments.  The department also oversees the event sponsorship program.  The town is responsible for sponsoring upwards of 60 events each year with the goal of driving economic vitality, cultural opportunities, and community engagement to the town.

Special Events Sponsorship Process

Each year the Economic Development Department publishes an RFP for event sponsorship opportunities in the Town of Vail.   The RFP for 2025 Event Sponsorship has been published on September 1 and the process is open. Information for this process can be viewed at www.vailgov.com/cserfp
