Online Community Development Portal
Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online portal to submit applications for contractor registration and construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning and Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood. Here’s a recap of the various construction projects currently underway in Vail.

Vail Village

Vail Road/W. Meadow Drive Intersection This project has been canceled for 2024. It is now scheduled for spring of 2025. Town of Vail contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-390-4677.
Vail Art Studio Ford Park Construction of the new Vail Art Studio located on the lower bench of Ford Park near the pedestrian bridge to Manor Vail is underway. The Vail Art Studio is anticipated to be completed by spring 2025. Contractor is MW Golden Constructors, Site Supervisor, Noah Green 303-915-3393.
816 Forest Road Entry Bridge Work continues on the new access road and retaining walls for the Forest Road duplexes. Approval has been granted for use of the lower lot for staging of material and equipment. Start date was July 2022. General Contractor is Mexamer Construction Group, Matt Anderson,970-471-3459. Owens Residence, 272 W. Meadow Drive This is a demo-rebuild of a single-family residence. Start date was May 2022 with completion scheduled for mid-November 2024. Contractor is Vail Custom Builders, David Hawkins, 970-376-8250. Town of Vail contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-390-4677.

Lionshead

513 E Lionshead Circle Re-roof Project

There is temporary site access for material delivery and equipment from East Lionshead Circle to the Lionshead Mall to stage near the Lionhead Arcade Building. Traffic and pedestrian control will be provided by the contractor. The completion date, weather pending, is scheduled for Nov. 14. Contractor is Monarch Construction and Roofing LLC, Houston Moore, 407-399-1830. Town of Vail Contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-390-4677.

Vail Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, 846 Forest Road
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is upgrading infrastructure and the wastewater treatment process at their wastewater treatment facility in Vail. This project has been expanded to include new stormwater improvements, paving, and landscaping with expected completion in summer of 2025. ERWSD contact is Mark Mantua, 970-401-0822.

East Vail Bus Shelter Project The Town is adding four new bus shelters in East Vail this fall at Bighorn Park, Main Gore/Juniper, Vail Racquetball Club Townhomes on Bighorn Rd. and Columbine Rd/Bighorn Rd. The shelters are expected to be installed by Nov. 14. For more information, contact Tom Kassmel, Town Engineer at 970-376-1664.
Timber Ridge Village All work will be contained within the construction fence thru the winter months. Work includes demo of existing structures and new construction of a 302-unit multifamily complex. Completion is scheduled for June 2026. Developer is Triumph Development West, Mike Foster, 303-475-4413. Demo contractor is Joe Haugen, Scofield Construction, 970-210-0020. Roundabout Lighting Improvements, I-70 Vail Town Center Interchange Electrical equipment to complete the project is still on back order from the supplier, once shipped they will be installed, and the new lights will be connected and turned on. The goal of this project is to upgrade the lighting in the Vail Town Center roundabouts to meet current safety standards for both vehicles and pedestrians. 1488 Matterhorn Drive, Alura Residences All work is now within the construction fence. Contractor is Schofield Excavation and Tuft Construction, Steve Gilbert, 303-916-8065. Town of Vail Contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-390-4677.
