Municipal Court has jurisdiction over violations of the Town of Vail Municipal Code.

Court proceedings are governed by town ordinance, state of Colorado Municipal Court Rules of Procedure and state statutes.

Local rules, which might differ from other jurisdictions include:

• The court does accept fax filings at the court fax: 970-477-3412
• The jury demand fee for jury trials is $50.00
• If a jury demand fee is tendered and jury demand is made, the defendant and/or attorney must appear for a pre-trial conference. A phone pre-trial conference will not be allowed.
• One pre-trial conference is allowed per case. Requesting a second pre-trial conference with the prosecutor requires an appearance in court before the judge.
