Delivering on Housing
The 2027 Housing Strategic Plan, adopted in 2017, is a goal of acquiring an additional 1,000 deed restricted units by the year 2027 to help to reach the goal of maintaining and sustaining homes for residences within the community. The most recent community housing project, Residences at Main Vail created rental homes for Eagle County locals and all 72 homes were fully occupied by December 2023.
Public-private partnership proved successful, and the Town of Vail and Triumph Development have since then completed the entitlement process for the redevelopment of Timber Ridge which will bring 294+/- residential options for an anticipated opening in the 2025-26 winter season. With a multi-pronged approach to meeting the housing goal, the town’s buy-down program and Vail InDEED are aimed at increasing the number of homes to be restricted to house employees for years to come. Currently with 1,040 deed restricted homes, the Town is on track to meet the 2027 goal.

The Town of Vail has five completed for-sale developments, all convenient to the free Town bus system.
Units in these developments are sold only to buyers who are qualified through the town's lottery process. Sale prices for these units range from approximately $175,000 to $810,000 depending on the type and location of the unit and are announced as they become available via a Community Housing Lottery. Applications are customized by each home that becomes available and the process follows that of the Town of Vail Employee Housing Guidelines.

Vail Commons
A 53-unit complex completed in 1997 and located just east of the City Market in Vail. This development is comprised of:
- 24 two-bedroom condominiums located in three buildings, including either one-and-a-half baths or two-baths, each with a large exterior storage closet and a shared garage under every building. These units are one floor and approximately 992 square feet.
- 13 two-bedroom, two-bath townhomes located in two buildings, no covered parking. These units are two floors and approximately 1,018 square feet.
- 6 three-bedroom, two-bath townhomes located in two buildings, all with one-car attached garages. These units are two floors, were built with an unfinished basement and are approximately 1,800 square feet.
- 10 three-bedroom, two-bath townhomes located in three buildings, all with two-car attached garages. These units are two floors, were built with an unfinished basement and are approximately 1,850 square feet.

Red Sandstone Creek
An 18-unit complex completed in 1999 and located on Red Sandstone Road across from the Potato Patch Club in Vail. This development is comprised of two buildings with dispersed unit types of:
- 2 one-bedroom, one-bath townhomes, with attached one-car garages. These units are two floors and approximately 850 square feet.
- 10 two-bedroom, one-bath townhomes, with attached one-car garages. These units are two floors and approximately 1,040 square feet.
- 2 two-bedroom, two-bath condominiums, with attached one-car garages. These units are one floor and approximately 1,160 square feet.
- 4 three-bedroom, two-bath condominiums, with attached one-car garages. These units are three floors and approximately 1,430 square feet.

North Trail Town Homes
A six-unit complex completed in 2001 and located at the intersection of Arosa Drive and Garmisch Drive and adjacent to Ellefson Park in Vail. This development is comprised of:
- 4 two-bedroom, two-bath townhomes located in a four-plex, all with attached one-car garages. These units are two floors and start at approximately 1,230 square feet.
- 2 three-bedroom, two-bath townhomes located in a duplex, with attached one-car garages. These units are two floors and start at approximately 1,440 square feet.
North Trail Master Deed Restriction
Arosa Duplex
A LEED Silver Certified duplex completed in 2010 and located at the start of Arosa Drive in West Vail, this development is comprised of:
- 2 units each with three-bedrooms, two and one-half bathrooms and attached two-car garages. These units are two floors and are approximately 1,500 square feet of living area plus garages.
Chamonix Vail Community
A 32-unit community completed in 2018 located in West Vail off Chamonix Road walking distance to West Vail shopping. The development contains 10 buildings with 5 floor plan types.
- 5 two bedroom, two bathroom townhome with attached one car garage. These units 2 levels homes with 1,143 square feet.
- 5 two bedroom, two bathroom townhomes with attached two car garage. These units are 3 level homes with 1,255 square feet.
- 10 three bedroom, three bathroom townhomes with attached one car garage. These are 3 level homes with 1,550 square feet.
- 8 three bedroom, three bathroom townhomes with attached two car garage. These are 3 level homes with 1,582 square feet.
- 4 three bedroom, two and a half bathroom townhomes with attached two car garage. These are 3 level homes with 2,002 square feet.
