Enter lost and found items into the web-based system used by the Town of Vail and Vail Resorts. Once a potential match of a lost item and its owner is confirmed by our staff, the owner will be contacted. The Vail Police Department is the central repository for items found in Vail. This would cover anything found in the Village or at the base of the mountain area. Vail Resorts Lost & Found stores everything found on the mountain.

Vail police officers participate in a county wide Law Enforcement Mountain Patrol. They patrol Vail Mountain assisting mountain security, mountain safety and ski patrol. They respond to criminal incidents that occur on the mountain such as deceptive use of ski facility, assaults, shop lifting, Colorado Skier Safety Act violations and enforcement of drug and alcohol laws.

"The Vail Police Department partners with www.bikeindex.org to host bicycle registration. Registering your bicycle or E-Bike with the Town of Vail Police can aid in it's recovery in the event it is lost or stolen. Utilizing the website bikeindex.org broadens the reach and possibility of recovery.

All that is needed to register is an email address and the bicycle's make, model and serial number. "

A major focus of the Vail Police is the public safety coordination of nearly 100 special events held in Vail annually, such as headliner concerts, dance festivals, major sport events, farmers market, bike races, parades, and end of season mountain parties. Vail Officers are available for hire to work private events when they are off duty. Call 970-479-2201 for more information.

The Town of Vail has developed its own responsible alcohol service training and has phased out use of the TIPS program.  The Town of Vail’s program has been approved by the Colorado Department of Revenue and satisfies the same state requirements as other state approved programs.  For information and a schedule of available classes please email: servicetraining@vail.gov.
