The Town of Vail flag is available for sale in the Vail Town Clerk's Office, located at 75 S. Frontage Road.

The flag is 4’ X 6’ and costs $80 plus tax. The Vail Town Clerk does not sell U.S. flags or Colorado flags, but many shops in Vail sell a variety of these flags.

Vail Flag Symbolism

• The upper element blue represents the blue Colorado sky
• The white middle element represents Vail's white powder snow
• The dark green represents the evergreen forests surrounding Vail
• The gold laurel wreath represents excellence and achievement
• The original Vail "V" upper element is symbolic of the surrounding mountains and the lower element represents the valley

United States Flag

It is the universal custom to display the U.S. flag from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, flags may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated when it is dark. The flag should not be flown in rainy or otherwise inclement weather. When flags of states and cities are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the United States flag should always be at the peak. The flag, when flown at half-staff should be first hoisted to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff position. The flag should be again raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day. On Memorial Day the flag should be displayed at half-staff until noon only, then raised to the top of the staff.
