    Public Assistance Needed in Multiple Bike Thefts in Vail

    The Vail Police Department has responded to ten reports of stolen bicycles from July 23 to 26. Several of the thefts occurred during the day and the suspect appears to be cutting bike locks to steal the bikes. The department has identified a vehicle and person of interest related to these cases.

    The Town of Vail Police Department will be celebrating the nationwide community policing event National Night Out on Aug. 1 with a free BBQ for the Vail community. Police personnel will be serving up burgers and hot dogs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Timber Ridge Apartments and Middle Creek Apartments.

    On July 16, Vail Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle near Vail’s Mountain Haus. At approximately 2:15 a.m., an individual wearing a white t-shirt and gray pants was seen taking an electric Marin Sausalito e-bike from a bike rack and traveling east on East Meadow Dr.

    Vail Asphalt Resurfacing Project begins July 20

    Crews hired by the Town of Vail will be milling and repaving streets beginning Thursday, July 20. Streets included in the project include Bridge Rd., Lupine Dr., Willow Way, Columbine Dr. between Lupine Dr. and Bighorn Rd., Streamside Circle West, Nugget Lane and Glen Falls Lane.

    Residences at Main Vail Lottery Garners Over 425 Entries

    The Town of Vail and its partner, Triumph Management West, have received over 425 entries into a lottery to rent one of 9 one-bedroom and 25 two-bedroom available homes for locals at the new Residences at Main Vail. A public lottery drawing will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 17.

    Crews hired by the Town of Vail will begin work to improve lighting at the roundabouts at I-70 interchange 176 on July 17. The project’s goal is to upgrade the lighting in the Vail Town Center roundabouts to meet current safety standards for both vehicles and pedestrians.
