Town of Vail Holiday Schedule Announced
Most Town of Vail municipal offices will be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. However, the police front counter in the Municipal Building will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Town of Vail Moves to Stage 2 Fire Restrictions on Friday, June 25
On Friday, June 25 at 12:01 a.m. all lands within Eagle County will enact Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. This decision comes in response to continued dry weather and dangerous fire conditions throughout Colorado’s high country.

Vail Joins Other Communities in Canceling Fireworks on July 4th
After careful consideration, the Town of Vail is joining Beaver Creek, Eagle/Gypsum and other communities across the state, including Breckenridge, Aspen, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Winter Park, Denver and Boulder, in canceling its professional fireworks display on the Fourth of July.

Police Ask for Public’s Help in Identification
On June 13, the Vail Police Department received a report of a theft from Gorsuch Ltd., located at 263 Gore Creek Drive. Store employees reported that an unidentified female removed $300 worth of merchandise from the store without paying.

Vail Town Council to Review Town-Initiated Financing Options for Residences at Main Vail Housing Development
With record low interest rates and the ability to retain ownership of the property in perpetuity, the Vail Town Council will consider optimizing an alternate arrangement for construction of the Residences at Main Vail during its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 15.

Police Investigate Use of Counterfeit Funds
On June 3, two counterfeit $50 bills were passed at a t-shirt store in the Vail Village. The Vail Police Department is looking for assistance in identifying two people that may have information on this incident.

Annual Trees for Vail Giveaway June 14-18
The Town of Vail is sponsoring the distribution and giveaway of 100 native trees and shrubs as part of the annual Trees for Vail program. Beginning Monday, June 14, Vail residents or property owners who show proof of Vail residency will be eligible to pick up a free one-gallon tree or native shrub.

Police Need Help Identifying Theft Suspect
At approximately 3:45 p.m. June 2, the Vail Police Department received a report of a theft of a wallet from the City Market in Vail. Shortly after this crime was reported, the victim’s stolen credit card was used to make several fraudulent purchases.
