A three-person commission appointed by the Eagle County District Court has determined the value of the 23-acre Booth Heights property to be $17,519,985. The Vail Town Council is scheduled to discuss the matter during its Oct. 3 regular evening meeting which begins at 6 p.m.

At 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 17, four individuals entered the Moncler clothing store in the Solaris Plaza area of Vail Village. The individuals took turns distracting store employees, while the others concealed items worth over $2,000 before leaving the store without paying.

The Town of Vail implemented an e-bike rebate program in May of 2023 to make ownership of e-bikes more accessible to residents and town employees. Since its launch, the program has issued 32 rebates equaling $9,500. Another $5,500 remains to be distributed before the end of the year.

The Town of Vail will sponsor another installment in its Lunch with the Locals series at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Vail Fire & Emergency Services, Fire Marshal Ryan Ocepek, will be providing education about fire safety and best practices with lithium-ion batteries.

On Aug. 5 a black 2000 Sierra pickup was stolen from the Vail Transportation Center. A subject was seen on video in the area of the vehicle around the time of the theft wearing a gray shirt, black backpack, black hat with lettering on the front and side, and black pants and shoes.

On Aug. 1, Vail Police detectives in cooperation with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Englewood Police Department, identified and arrested 40-year-old Jason Todd Champagne of Englewood in relation to the bike thefts that have been occurring in Vail since July 23.
