VFD

The Vail Fire Department (VFD) is a paid department.   The majority of the firefighters are emergency medical technicians (EMT’s).  The department maintains three fire stations.  Station One is at 4116 Columbine Dr in East Vail, Station Two is at 42 W Meadow Dr in the Village, and Station 3 is at 2399 N Frontage Rd W in West Vail.

The response area for the VFD is all of the area from Dowd Junction, on I-70 MM171 to MM190 the summit of Vail Pass.

The Department currently operates 4-class A Pumpers, 1-75' Aerial Quint, 1-85' Tower Ladder, 1-Type 6 Wildland Engine, 1-Type 7 Wildland Engine, 1-Parade Engine, 2-4x4 utility vehicles and 2-Chief's cars.
